The new Village Church website!

Updated: Oct 3, 2018

'Not having a church website is like not having a front door to your church building. And it's hard to welcome people to worship if you don't have a way in.' The pastor who said that was exaggerating (but not much!) In the 21st century people are more likely to visit a church website before they ever set foot in a church building.

And so here are our aims for the new Village Church website:

Firstly, we want to state what we believe. People will access our website from a range of backgrounds and so we have included a 'Jesus' page for people who aren't Christians with simple answers to the questions 'Who is Jesus?' and 'Why did he come?' We have also included a page with a clear statement of faith for Christians who have moved to Bristol and are looking for a local church to join.

Secondly, we want to share the boring but basic information. For people who aren't part of the Village Church we want to make it as easy as possible for them to know when and where we meet and how they can contact us. For people who are part of the Village Church we want to make it as simple as possible for them to know what is happening when (see the calendar).

Thirdly, we want to have our sermons available online. This allows people who are looking for a local church to listen in and get a feel for the preaching. But it also allows those of us who aren't able to hear the sermon that week (maybe because we're serving with the children or young people) to listen.

Some churches have amazing websites. But sometimes in the rush to be innovative they end up cluttering the site and making it difficult for people to find they're way around. Hopefully you'll quickly find your way around our new website!
