Welcome to the Village Church website!

We are a growing church in Emersons Green, Bristol and we're all about knowing Jesus and making him known - we believe that Jesus Christ is a person whose worth surpasses everything else. Whoever you are or whatever you've done you're more than welcome to come along to our Sunday service - it would be great to meet you! I hope the information on this page gives you a feel for who we are and what we do and if you've got any questions please don't hesitate to contact us.

Pastor, the Village Church

Sunday

service

If you would like to find out more about the Village Church the best place to start is our weekly Sunday service. We meet every Sunday at 10:30am in Mangotsfield Primary School in Emersons Green (for just over an hour) and you're more than welcome to come along. We're informal - dress casually and come as you are. We sing the best of traditional hymns and contemporary songs. There's praying and there's preaching. There are also separate groups for children and young people.

Christianity Explored

If you're new to church or to Christianity and you want to find out more we run a course called Christianity Explored. It's relaxed and it gives people the time and space to think about who Jesus is and why he really matters. Anybody is welcome to come along; nobody is asked to read aloud, sing or pray. And it's also an opportunity to ask any questions you want to in a safe setting. Please contact us if you'd like some more information about the next course.

Who's
Who?

The Village Church is lead by a team of elders and deacons. The responsibility of the elders can be summarised in a sentence: ...be shepherds of God's flock that us under your care... (1 Peter 5:2). In the same way that a shepherd is all about their sheep, the elders are all about the members. People, rather than programmes, are a priority for the elders. Deacons are servant leaders. They are biblically qualified men and women who are responsible for the practical needs of the Village Church.
